Additionally, he is the Technical Chair for American National Standards Institute (ANSI) US Technical Assistance Group (USTAG) to ISO TC94 SC15 Respiratory Protective Devices. Geoff is certified by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and a Master of Science Degree in Public Health from the University of Minnesota. He is also a member of ASTM International and the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA). Prior to coming to 3M, Geoff served as a commissioned officer in the US Navy Medical Service Corps specializing in Industrial Hygiene. He served in a variety of positions including: US Naval Repair Ship Safety Officer, several Occupational Health Department Head positions, and was awarded the US Navy Fellowship with US Environmental Response Team. During these assignments, Geoff managed numerous respiratory protection programs, asbestos abatement programs, and Occupational Health Programs. His last assignment in the Navy was with the US Marine Corps Chemical Biological Incident Response Force (CBIRF). While serving at CBIRF, he administered the Respiratory Protection Program, designed and implemented a ‘risk specific’ occupational surveillance program addressing the inherent risk to first responders from CBRNE incidents, oversaw ‘Live Chemical Agent’ training, and developed tactical decision games and seminars used by the response force leadership. Since coming to 3M in 2004, he has been involved in a variety of respiratory protection development programs, testing and certification. I have been a member of ISRP for almost three years. I am impressed by the professionalism of this organization. I would be honored to serve as Vice President. If elected, my top priority is to broaden membership by trying to reach out to Research Universities and Occupational Safety and Health professionals. |
