2. Section AGM

There will be an online AGM, which we intend to hold with the September webinar. Details of the exact time will follow.

3. By-laws

David Crouch and I have been reviewing our by-laws. These were last revised in 2011. I am circulating our proposals for your consideration with this newsletter together with the previous version for comparison. These have to be with the members for 60 days before they are finally submitted for approval (or otherwise) by the membership. I would like any corrections or possible changes to be sent to the Secretary before the AGM so that we can cover them as an agenda item.

Newsletter – May 2022

1. International Online Conference 2022

The recent virtual international conference was a great success with roughly 250 registered participants. Some of you are getting this newsletter as you are new to the society and gained membership for 2022 as part of your conference fees. Welcome to the European Section of ISRP. We hope that you will decide to stay with us in 2023.

You all need to be aware that the videos of the sessions will be available on demand until the 12th of June. Would you also please fill in the survey, which should have been sent to you by the conference team.

2. 2022 European Section Webinars and Seminars

This year’s European Section online webinars are to be held in September (Basics), October (Silica), November (Welding) and December (Asbestos). We have a slot in each of these for a member to present an “Introducing myself/my company” piece. This is designed to replace the face to face chat that would take place at normal meetings. Just let the Secretary know if you wish to take advantage of this. Full details of dates and speakers to follow later.

We held a virtual committee meeting last week where we discussed getting back to face to face meetings. At the moment it seems that too many companies are still restricting travel opportunities for their staff to be sure of a good attendance so it was decided to not plan face to face until 2023.

There will be an online AGM, either held with the September webinar or as a separate short meeting in September. Your Secretary will circulate details of this between 60 and 30 days of the meeting as required by our by-laws.
